In 1963, Tamworth saw The Beatles play at the Assembly Rooms, a few months earlier some local youngsters in a band called Danny Coral and the Surfriders had been to the Matrix Hall, Coventry and seen The Beatles perform - it changed their lives. This tree charts the beginnings of several local 'beat' groups that could be seen regularly playing an and around Tamworth in the earlly and mid-sixties including The Blackouts and The Three Spirits. The tree culminates in Bakerloo whose guitarist and vocalist was none other than Dave 'Clem' Clempson - probably Tamworth's most successful musical son, who later went on to perform with Colosseum and Humble Pie.
